We use Sharpie markers, too. You can get them at grocery stores, office
supply stores and fabric stores in Little Rock. The marks often last longer
than the leaves do. Another advantage is you can mark leaves before you
wash and bleach the rhizomes, which comes in handy when one is digging and
cleaning a large number of plants. I like to mark the leaves first, then
dig, or mark immediately after digging (before washing). That way there are
no mixups in the bath.
