It has been said (I read it somewhere) that selfing is the ultimate in
line breeding. I found a Standard Dwarf in my seedlings a few years ago
that sported an occasional flounce. I selfed this plant. It produced a
child that has all flounces all the time. It is not pretty, but I am
working on that. Selfing will sometimes "intensify" a characteritic, at
least this has been my experience.
