Greetings! We are Joe and Donna Spears better known as Argyle Acres Iris
Gardens in Argyle, Texas (located 25 miles northwest of D/FW International
Airport). Finally, we have local telephone access to a city large enough
to have an Internet Service Provider. We are delighted to join y'all.
Argyle Acres should have a web page by late December. We specialize in
Texas hardy bearded irises, including over 500 historic varieties. Each
April we host "Iris in Bloom" when we open our home garden free to the
public and thousands of people enjoy the spectacle.
We are active members of the AIS and HIPS, in particular. Joe is South
Central Region director. He is also President of the Fort Worth Iris
Society, and Donna is 3rd Vice President. In addition, we each have
full-time jobs with major corporations.
