Ian,
Thank you for the information concerning the Louisiana Iris species.
I am located southwest of Gainesville and southeast of Cedar Key, not being
too terribly far from either. Near Crystal River (FL.) on the road to Fort
Island Beach, there is a plant that appears to be some sort of Iris growing
in the ditches. Of course, this happens to be in a nature preserve, but
even if it was legal, I would not poke around in those ditches because I
don't think I want to be Gator Bait.
I wonder if any of the nurseries in Gainesville stock Iris
giganticaerula?
