I used hay for mulchin the middle of November and pulled it off in the early
spring. Too many seeeds fell and grew me weeds. This year I put cedar bark
mulch on my lilac and tulip row. I am liking the look dark brown-red and
hoping the aroma (vs smell) lept the moths away from my iris. Rather pricey
for a bag at Agway but am going to use some for a n Iris row this november and
will let you know in the spring how it did.
