I purchased CLARENCE last year, mostly based on Iris-l traffic about
it's rebloom , because all the pictures in catalogs were kind of uggo. He
did not bloom this past Spring but for the past 2 weeks now I am enjoying 4
excellent stalks on the clump .. and the flowers are very pretty, the color
is very clean and the subtle blending of white from the standards onto the
shoulders of the sky blue falls is very nice. The bud count and branching
are perfect - looking just like a Spring once-er .I would encourage others
to ignore the name* and the pictures and try this iris.
Also lookin good are ROSALIE FIGGE, TOTAL RECALL, JEWEL BABY (sdb),
WINTERLAND, WINESAP, ST.PETERSBURG, CURTAIN UP, MISTY TWILIGHT, LITTLE BLUE
EYES (sdb), CONCOCTION (IB), ZURICH, PORCELAIN FRILLS, RECURRING RUFFLES
and BLATANT.
*with no disrespect to the wonderful namesake, sir Clarence Mahan.
