Why would I want to use thornbird. Well simply because I'm not into a ton
of solid white to near white seedlings. I already have starship which I
think is great. I like spaceage iris. White and yellow seeming to be the
color most often seen although skyhooks has given many colors through its
offspring. I do have some of Suttons nicer newer plants. I can't wait to
use them. I also have a couple of thornbird plants that will be crossed to
larger flowered more colorful things and the nicer resulting ones will be
used to cross on some other things to keep the SA gene in there. There are
a lot of SA that are very kin to each other. Wouldn't want to much
imbreeding. I imagine thornbird growing like a weed might be able to put
some of it vigor into some of the more non vigorous ones. In spite of the
dislike of many to thornbird the plant might still have its uses. If
nothing good turns up its still only my time that I waste. Who knows I
might have some fun along the way!
