	I don't grow THORNBIRD and saw it for the first time in Denver in
	the Townsend garden where I didn't recognize from the multitudes of
	pix I had seen, notably on the AIS Bulletin cover. I even asked if
	the plant markers were correct. I was assured that this was the
	THORNBIRD that had won the Dykes.

	This plant looked hearty, healthy and was a very washed-out,
	muddy color (IMHO)....maybe an art shade? I plan to order it next
	year and see what it looks like in my rain-soaked, acid soil.
