Thornbird grows well here, but the color is not pleasing ! at all!!! When I saw it in Denver it twas a completely different color!! I liked what I saw in Denver--but many flowers, when grown here, are a different color and usually are less pleasing!! I tossed ACOMA out after one bloom season--it was yucky!!! Then I saw it in Denver, and it was big and beautiful!! Its hybridizer (cannot remember his name right now) was our bus captain and we had quite an interesting discussion about how the color changes in different areas of the country--So now I admire many flowers in other areas and realize that I cannot grow them here--but the yellow and orange ones dogreat and their color is even more intense here---so I grow what I think is pretty and admire the others at AIS Meetings!!! |
