To answer your question about whether pseudacorus is invasive, I don't see it
here in Zone 5/6. (<---somewhere in there... I' m in a valley)
Anyway... I grow several varieties of 'yaller flag' and have experienced no
sign of them becoming a fugitive. I grow Roy Davidson.... also plain yellow
and shades of white and cream. Some pseudacorus have interesting etched
signal patterns that I get off on as well.
Now, I have to say that I. pseudacorus is a lusty grower, but I planted some
in a farm pond years ago and it's not grown beyond their clumps yet.
