OT-OTHER: Leonids in Southern Hemisphere

From: "Jan Clark" <janclarx@hotmail.com>

2.00am The meteors rained down, giving a wonderful display, the crowds
cheered, then suddenly a large glowing object roared towards us, nowhere
to hide, nowhere to run, no escape except........

2.30am The alarm clock wakes me and two intrepid astronomers emerge in
PJ's to look for meteorites......after several minutes wait...........
Geoff: "There's one" Jan:"Where? ......Oh , I think I saw something"
Crawling back into bed....Geoff: "You know, the Romans called this the
RAIN OF FIRE" Jan: "Yes, I can understand why!"

3.00am Son on the front verandah:
"Mum, I've been looking for 10 minutes, there's nothing to see"
.....goes back to bed.

4.00am Alarm goes off again.
Geoff:"Go back to sleep!"
Jan:"If the end of the world is coming, I want to be there"
I stagger out in thick coat and bare legs, and finally see a long feint
streak of light flash through the sky, and crawl back into bed
contentedly.
Cheers from a rather tired Jan Clark, who viewed 'the event of the
decade' early this morning.
