Greetings.
A few days ago the Editor of ROOTS told me she intended to have the Fall,
1999, issue in the mail by Thanksgiving, with full particulars of the HIPS
mini-convention to be held in the Syracuse NY area next year.
ROOTS is mailed bulk so it could be a couple of weeks after that before it is
widely received, and the holidays could conceivably impact that as they do
most things.
It would be somewhat unusual for the Fall ROOTS to be out yet. As I recall it
typically has been received in late November to mid-December, and, after the
fashion of mags put together by volunteers, has been known to run later.
Those who are not familiar with ROOTS, the journal of the Historic Iris
Preservation Society, are invited to check out HIPS and HIPS membership at
