RE: CULT: Rebloom

From: "Title, CDR Lynn A." <titlel@spawar.navy.mil>

Thanks for the kind words, Rosalie. I'll get the hang of the format real
soon now...

I'm in Lanham, MD, a mile outside the DC beltway (to the East) -- we tend
to be a little warmer and drier than other sections of town. Often there'll
be a downpour five miles away in Silver Spring or Bethesda but the
streets'll be bone-dry when I get home. I usually consider that to be Zone
6A or 7. To reiterate, I've got a total of seven bloom stalks on EARL OF
ESSEX, which started to open about ten days ago, and one six-bud stalk on
AUTUMN ORANGE LIGHT which should open this weekend. Most of the rest of my
irises are fighting back from a bad attack of rot.

I'm second-generation Navy, the the only girl of four kids, and the only
one to follow my Dad into the Service. My dad was a Commander in the
Reserves, and I'm real proud to wear his collar devices - I never thought
I'd get that last promotion. He was a gardener too, active in national-level
Men's Garden Club, and a specialist in gesnariads. I don't remember many
irises in his gardens, growing up in Rochester NY, but he loved roses; I
still have a Mr Lincoln he planted years back.

  Lynn
