Well, he is happy to be relieved of the symposium work, so that he can
concentrate on the judges' ballot for Dykes, Wister, AM, HM, etc.

For someone with a full (or more than full) time job, doing both was too
much.

And I agree, he got a lot of bad press when what he did "wrong" was to
follow the Judges Handbook exactly, not realizing that it hadn't been
updated to match the current awards setup.
