CULT: Fave irises

   Took me a while to whittle down the list to managable
size:

AFTERNOON DELIGHT - great grower, nice color combo
ALIZES - white S, blue F, lots of stalks makes up for low
bud count
BENGAL TIGER - gold + red, good grower
BOY FRIEND - golden tan - grows about 4' tall for me
BRONZETTE STAR - golden brown - every judge that saw this
this year bought it.
CHANGE OF PACE - pink S, plum F w. white center - neat
combo
CHARISMA - blue, yellow B, good grower
COLORTRAK - pale yellow S, white F sanded pinkish violet
COPPER BELL - pale tan with rosy flush; very late
DESERT ECHO - muted yellow with brown on falls. Sounds
ugly, but orange B really sets this one off.
ENSIGN - BB - bright blue, yellow B, likes to grow, lots of
stalks
FANCY WOMAN - reddish luminata, good grower
GIRL NEXT DOOR - white S, pink F, orange B, good grower
GOLD FROSTING - white S, gold F
ISLAND SONG - pale blue-violet plic, great grower
LULLABY OF SPRING - light yellow S, lavender F, large, good
grower
MAKE MINE MISTY - updated CAPRICIOUS, with pastel colors
MYSTIC LACE - neglecta, great grower, lots of stalks
OLYMPIAD - pale blue violet flushed darker - likes to grow
PERSIAN GOWN - red violet, orange B
RED ZINGER - IB - maroon, darker F spot, lots of stalks
ROCK STAR - raspberry plic with red horns - short, low bud
count, but great grower and lots of stalks
RUFFLED FEATHERS - brown and white plic - low bud count,
but great substance and color
RUSTLER - brown and orange
SANTANA - brown and yellow plic, good grower
SUPREME SULTAN - gold S, maroon F, large
SWEET MUSETTE - pink S, lavender F, lace, lots of stalks
SYNCOPATION - gold S, maroon/plum F, just glows
TIGER SHARK - yellow, brown veining covers falls, good
grower
VANITY - pink
WESTERN CARNIVAL - bright yellow S, maroon F, good grower,
which most in this color class aren't here
XANTHIPPE'S HALO - red-violet, with plum on F - blooms so
heavy each year that I'm afraid it will bloom out - but the
increase grow and grow.

   Heavy clay here, with half day of sun. Lots of other
potential faves in the garden - just waiting to see how
they do next year...
