Many are acquired.... Few are kept.. and the simple answer for the 
difference might be alchemy.

The reasons I've seen behind favorites are as changeable as the weather.. a 
perfectly sculpted bloom, a richness of color, an imposing or diminutive 
height, a hint of something more in the next generation, or an anchor to a 
personal past. When enough reasons come together, magic happens.

As to "why" ... A long-time gardener friend insists that flowers feed the 
soul. They are dreams made tangible.
