Hi Mark,
You know we differ somewhat on this as I have a lot of friends
in Florida who do very well with rebloomers, some as far
south as St. Augustine. Raised beds, providing good drainage,
other good culture habits, and probably plant selection or
buying from region growers are other opportunities for success.
There are a number of experiments going on with the Region V
affiliate from Florida. 0ur Region meeting is 0ct. 14th in Atlanta
and we're hoping to learn more. In fact they are planning a
spring region meeting when we will tour several iris gardens
in Florida and possibly even a show. We're all looking forward
to that.
Mark, just keep trying and you will be surprised at your successes!
It is definitely worth the effort.
Claire Honkanen, Region V zone 8/9 for me, and I worry a lot more
about lack of rain than too much rain.
