Hi, Ernie, thanks for the input. I feel relatively sure it would grow in my
new bed. It has enough northern exposure to keep the ground from thawing
much in the winter months. A plus, I think. I accept that it grows for
almost everyone else. One point was that it was just about the only one to
die, out of a couple of hundred new irises. After it died twice, I kinda
lost interest. I can't locate my R & I's for that year. (Darn kids, anyway.)
Anyone know what the parents are?
You can't imagine what joy this fall has given with the new reblooming
seedlings. Bless Jim Bingham for giving next year's crop a home. I'm about
to the point Monty Byers spoke of in his catalogs. "If I could only grow 10
irises, I would choose 2 good parents and 8 seedlings."
