RE: Re: CULT - Genetic Engineering

Walter,

That is just it. Neither has been proven to be a hazard to anyone's health
at the present time. There is not enough data in to state whether either
may prove to be a hazard or not. Just keep in mind that the media needs
eyes and/or ears to make it viable, so they have a tendency to accentuate
the negative, and one must read carefully and be widely read to determine
what the truth may or may not be. I do have the unfair advantage of having
a good number of science writers around me three days a week at one of the
sites I work, so I do have a tendency to pick up on this stuff a bit more
than the average person. I also have the misfortune of seeing more
motorcades, expensive cars (Rolls, Bentleys, Lotus, Jaguars, high end
Mercedes, Ferraris, etc. than the average person also because of the area I
am in, but I still look <g>.

I am sorry I confused anybody. I just reported what I had read
in the paper and heard on nightly news about the 'hazard to your
health things. If the above are not 'hazards to your health,' then I
clearly don't understand the meaning of the phrase. Allergic
reactions make one sick, and to me, that is a hazard. Bacterial
contamination is a hazard, too. Wouldn't that make one sick, too, if
you ate the product?

   Nor am I.
