  We haven't tried the herbicide yet, but if the root system is that massive
  I would believe it had an effect. One other thing to note, there were few other weeds in that area. Not even dandelions. Too bad we can't harness that action without 
  the drawback of the thistle. Unfortunately, the climate requirements described 
  for Canadian thistle to thrive match ours to a "t". Bull thistle too, which
  will pierce rawhide gloves.
