BELVI QUEEN had its terminal bud on the verge of unfolding last week
when temps dropped to give frost every morning for a few days, plus a
couple of freezes hard enough to kill tomatos, Impatiens somewhat
protected by being next to the house, & a few more weeds. Now that it's
quit freezing at night, she has finished opening up. A bit smaller than
usual - reminds me of a butterfly whose wings didn't quite get to expand
as much as they should have. IMMORTALITY, SUMMER GREEN SHADOWS, and
HARVEST OF MEMORIES are in about the same state. Keeping my fingers
crossed on a few others that haven't shown color yet.
You Canadians know when you are planning on sending the next cold front
this far south? <g>
