REB:Remarkable

Hello Again,

I decided to check out the SKIS display garden again this afternoon. I was
met with a REMARKABLE scene.

REMARKABLE (RG Smith 94) ML & RE. Golden tan blend, lighter around orange
beard. (And ruffled!) (And gorgeous) There was only one stalk, but it would
have knocked my socks off, if I'd been wearing any. This one came from my
Alvaton garden and I remember that I liked it, but didn't remember being THIS
impressed. The tag had been lost in the public garden and, in the spring,
someone had decided it looked like HARVEST KING, so they stuck that name on
it.

Now, I will mop up the droop and proceed.

IMMORTALITY 6 stalks (finally came to life) I wanted to compare it to one
of it's grandchildren which is blooming prolifically in my seedling bed. The
one where I'm working toward a reblooming blue with a blue beard. The
seedling is better than I thought.

CLARENCE---sporting 3 beautiful stalks. He really shines in the fall garden!

FEEDBACK must have worn out it's welcome (or soil) because it only had 2
stalks. But one stalk had 11 + buds.

VIOLET RETURNS--a half sib (I think) to FEEDBACK, but more prolific of bloom.
10 stalks.

RENOWN--1 stalk, still unopened

TEA LEAVES--8 robust stalks. Each fall the size of the stalks amaze me.

CORN HARVEST--6 stalks

AUTUMN CIRCUS--1 stalk

BRIDGE IN TIME---3 stalks and running late this year.

RETURNING CHAMELEON-- 10 stalks + . It was hard to count since many put up
additional stalks from the same spot. I count these as 1. Last fall, I
planted 3 of these for an instant clump. It worked. This thing grows like
crazy. It is blooming a little short. Linda, I've not heard reports on this
any further south than Memphis. From Mike's report that he does in his
catalog and the one the Spoons do, I'd say it must rebloom in a lot of
places.

Well, that's it for tonight. Oh, yes, stalks are total stalks for the fall.
I counted stalks that were finished, done, kaput, too.

May everyone have REMARKABLE in their fall garden by this time next year!
Love it!
