You bet I can! There's nothing like it. Well, not much anyway. Maybe (for
me) a heartfelt hug from a barely 2 years old grandchild, who calls me Mam
Maw Ki Kitty.
But, not much else comes close.
The anticipation and anxiety are something. Of course, you also have to
accept the let down when something that looked "superb" in the bud, or at
first bloom, turns to a nasty mess! Ugh! Still, it's fun.
Three weeks ago, I dug and pitched most of seedling # 9126-1 (Gallant Moment
X Feedback) because I needed space and it hadn't shown itself to be special.
I'd crossed it with a red seedling (next year's bloom) and it had shown no
signs of rebloom. Yet, I saved a mall clump. Well, guess what opened a bloom
today . . . looking fat & sassy and perfect? Perfect as in height,
branching, etc. Another beetroot and purple combination.
Oh, Well! That'll teach me.
