Good idea Linda, I bet they would work for anchoring soaker hoses or drip
hoses too!

I don't know if these will appeal to anyone else, but WalMart has
packages of 50, 7.5 inch long, outdoor light stakes for use with mini
Christmas light sets for $1.97. They are heavy wire with a curved over
loop at the top, painted with a heavy coat of green enamel. I'm using
them with vinyl window blind pieces, labeled with WalMart black medium
paint pen, punched with a regular paper hole punch. I can label a whole
blind, punch holes, hook the metal stakes thru the holes, squeeze them
shut with pliers, then take the intact blind with dangling stakes to the
garden and cut each one off to stick in the ground as I work down the
rows.
These are small enough and stiff enough to push down amongst the gravel
& rocks in my garden far enough to anchor them well and not leave them
sticking out of the ground too far.
