HYB: finding pedigrees

<Is there a book or bulletin where you can find out the
pedigree of a particular iris or do you have to go staright to the
hybridizer?>

Ok, one more post...

Every year, AIS publishes the names of all the irises
registered/introduced the preceeding year in a booklet of Registrations
and Introductions (R&I). Every decade, these booklets are compiled into
a 10 yr checklist (most recent published in 1999). The R&I info
includes height, class, seedling number, hybridizer, description of
bloom and pedigree (if known).

John Jones is in charge of digitizing all the printed checklists and
converting the data into an online database. To date, I think the 80s
and 90s are online?

The information is only available from the hybridizer during the year of
introduction - i.e., pedigrees for 2002 intros will be published in
January.

The checklists and individual R&Is are available thru the AIS
storefront.

More later...
