Well first somebody needs to make them. The limited number we would need
makes commercial stamping too costly. And no I am not signing up to do
it. And there would still have to be a format for the data.

Not everyone has a CD burner to write to a CD. The data could be copied
off easily enough. Which means that a CD of say, the 2009 Checklist or
the 2002 R&I, would have to be protected some way until the cost of
printing the hardcopy could be recovered. Maybe by that 2009 everyone
will have a pocket sized computer with a CD player that can be carried
to all the shows and all the other places that people take the hard
copies today, but right now we need the hard copies. One of the things
we are doing is looking at "print on demand." (Anyone out there know
anything about that? Please contact me off list.)
No, I am not opposed to the idea of CDs or electronic copies and
distribution. I have been promoting all sorts of electronic services
since I got involved with AIS. But there are aspects to be considered
and issues to be solved.
