Hello...

Just a short note to introduce myself and my interests to the group.
My name is Steve Mahlberg and I live in NE Minnesota Zone 4.
I have been raising some irises for a few years now. A few TB's and
Iris versicolor from plants I collected in NW Minnesota.
I have decided to try my hand at hybridization in the upcoming
seasons. I joined this group in hopes to find info on hybridizing and
to "chat" with other enthusiasts about their efforts and results and
things of that nature.
I have an idea of the "how to's" but am interested in learning more
about the inheritance of colors and patterns as well as fertility of
varieties. Any info on color inheritance, be it the common sense
types of things (light colors crossed with light colors gives you
light colors) Or deep purples are dominant to whites. :)
Of course, I'm always interested in learning more about (more)
disease resistant irises, etc.
Thanks for giving me the opportunity to share my experiences, when
and as they happen. And for allowing me the use of this group to
expand my (present) limited knowledge of iris variations.
