KILT LILT was called 'Kilt Wilt' when I attempted to grow it.
Actually, for me it did not rot; it was just a wimpy grower with
wretched stalks and a bud count of four. The flower seemed to be
the only thing going for it.

But, it grew well somewhere because it won the Dykes' Medal in
'76, when it had to get fifteen percent of the judges' votes to get the
honor. And, if you'll look at the 2001 Symposium, it was number
75, so, again, somewhere somebody is still growing it well and
voting for it. For it to have been on the Symposium for at least
twenty-five years is some kind of record and speaks of its abilities
to perform and to be so admired that it continues to get votes from
judges and the general AIS membership. I envy those who can
grow KILT LILT and have it bloom like a Dykes' Medalist should.
