My grandmother planted lilacs she transported from KY to AR. I've always
thought they were the 'common' lilac. They take 7 years from planting to first
bloom. Over a period of several (25 or so) years, I saw them put out a few
fall blooms on several occasions.
Once again I'd like to smell lilacs in the spring . . . I'm back in a spot
where I can throw open my windows and enjoy my surroundings!
Which type of lilacs take 7 years to mature? Is it the common lilac? I've
looked on the Internet and checked with lilac 'experts' but no one seems to be
able to tell me which type to AVOID! I don't want to wait 7 years to enjoy the
fragrance.
Thanks in advance for any information you can send my way.
