Linda,
Bride's Halo does well enough for me here in southern MO, but it doesn't really distinguish itself from the others. Pretty bloom, generally reliable, average increase. I'd say satisfactory in every way, exceptional in none. I do like it.

How does BRIDE'S HALO perform for everybody? The pedigree (as far as I tracked it) has mostly solid yellows or browns, with a few with yellow or brown rims on purple ground. So I thought it might add something different to the mix of things here. I'm also trying to add a few cultivars with yellow (or pink) amoena genes to the mix of things I'm trying to grow. BH doesn't seem to be related to those, but at least it has mostly white standards. The only pink or yellow amoena that I've tried so far that grows really well here is CORAL BEADS, but its bloom has problems with the late freezes. CORAL BEAUTY (its sib, I think) doesn't grow nearly as well & bloom is worse. PEACH SPOT is pathetic here, but has managed a stunted bloom every year and even occasionally makes some viable pollen. MELTED BUTTER, which has gotten such good reviews elsewhere, did bloom nicely for me last year, its first here, but increases are pathetic. I will move them to the ridgetop next year if they survive the winter. Anybody know of other tough pink or yellow amoenas they'd recommend trying? Historic or new, I dont' care which. -- Linda Mann east Tennessee USA zone 7/8 East Tennessee Iris Society <http://www.korrnet.org/etis> American Iris Society web site <http://www.irises.org> talk archives: <http://www.hort.net/lists/iris-talk/> photos archives: <http://www.hort.net/lists/iris-photos/> online R&I <http://www.irisregister.com> --------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE IRIS
