Rita (or others), which of the Niswonger orange or pinkish amoenas are
the most reliable?
Linda, I assume you mean TBs (I am most fond of his SDBs so see those at the
end!)
MILK ON APRICOTS
ORANGE SLICES
PUMPKIN CHEESECAKE
RESPLENDENT ROSE
ROYAL PINK
CORAL CHALICE
not an orange or pink ameona but striking and study TB nonetheless:
BLUE CHIP PINK
EVERYTHING PLUS
HALO IN PEACH
INDIAN CERAMICS
PATRIOT COLORS
REAR VIEW MIRROR
SKY BLUE PINK
SUNKIST DELIGHT
Can you tell we are big Niswonger fans? Dave is a Missouri hybridizer and
generous to all Region 18 Auctions and sales, so we have a nice collection of
his intros that all grow well in our difficult climate (except Champagne
Elegance!) "Search for an Iris" shows 270 Niswonger intros which I know include all
bearded classes as well as Spuria.
My very favorite orange amoenas are BBs
ORANGE PIECRUST
APRICOT FROSTY
Of the dozens of SDBs we have of Dave's, my very favorite is COCOA PINK, a
dusty pink with blue beards that blooms at different times during a month long
period depending on whether it is planted in the sun or the shade.Other SDB
"growing fools" are:
PLUM RIPPLES
RASPBERRY JAM
SUMMER FRUIT
YAT ROCK
Rita Gormley
Gormley Greenery
Cedar Hill, MO
