rebloom

Hi all,

I think I just accidentally re-sent an old 'La Neige' message I was reading.
Sorry about that! One second I was reading it, and the next it said "message
sent". Not quite sure how I managed it; I did bump the mouse.

Anyway, on to the point. Seems it's easy to miss those rebloom stalks. I
walked out this morning and 'Polar King' was in full flower with three flowers
open. 'Immortality' is still hanging in there. 'Eleanor Roosevelt' has come
into bloom now. The real surprise is flower stalks coming up on 'Black
Magic', which I only planted one little start of in August. I guess it's
happy. It'll be fun to see how my 'ER' and 'BM' compare.

It seems it's still summer in central NM. Most days are warm (about 85F)
yesterday and the coldest night so far at the house has been 48. It was 62
when I looked at the thermometer at 6:00 this morning, with about two million
moths flying around the light. At the botanic garden we had 31F one morning
about a week ago, but while it froze sprinkler water, it didn't hurt any
plants. Not sure how long this can last. Two years ago the first frost was
the night before Thanksgiving Day, with the day before in the 80's; however,
there was a light frost in mid September at the Botanic Garden (unheard of) 50
miles away. The first frost last year was in mid October. Never be sure. My
house plants are still outside, so it'll probably sneak up on me while I'm out
of town one day, and totally unprepared.

Dave
