CULT: cucumber beetles

Cucumber beetles (depending some on the weather) can produce several
generations per season. Generally, if I remember correctly, a generation
takes about three or four weeks in average summer weather. I may be
remembering incorrectly, but I think they overwinter as adults. They eat a
variety of plants, and are a commercial pest on Corn. I expect you are
talking about the green-yellow one with black dots? There are few others,
most of which are striped, but of the same shape and size. Here in NM,
I've only seen the spotted ones on Iris so far, and just on the flowers.
This is the first year they've ever done noticeable damage, but not very
noticeable, unless one was looking for show quality flowers.

It is correct that they are very easy to kill, but they can fly too, so you
have to be allert for re-infestation.
