Hi. A few days ago I was looking at iris rhizomes available on e-bay,
and saw an extremely striking one, that the seller was calling Dracula's
Shadow. Since it's getting to be a little late in the year to plant
irises around here I tried looking it up on a few different sites that
sell or identify irises, thinking I might try to get a few next year.
However, the sites I checked all seemed to have something very different
identified as Dracula's Shadow. On most of the sites, Dracula's Shadow
was a very dark, single-colored blue-black iris with beards of the same
shade. However, the one on e-bay had royal purple standards, jet black
falls (not sure if I have the terminology right, I'm new to this) and
orangy-red beards. Does anyone know which of these is the real Dracula's
Shadow? And if it's the blue-black one, do you know what the other one
I'm describing might be? I didn't bid on the auction, but I'm interested
in finding a few for next year, I've never seen anything like it. Thanks,Sarah
