HYB: frozen burritos!

I pulled most of this year's burritos out of the fridge and planted them
yesterday.

One batch had some seeds in each cross already sprouting. This is the
first time I've seen seeds other than from TB x SDB start to sprout
while in the refrigerator.

Another batch had gotten shoved to the back of the shelf and was frozen
(the damp paper towels wrapped around the seeds were frozen) No seeds
had sprouted in this batch.

Now I'm worried - and wondering - if part of the reason germination has
usually been below 50% and sometimes none is because burritos have been
getting too cold part of the time they've been in the fridge. ?

Have any of you had experience with anything like this? Do you think
the frozen ones have been damaged? I guess this isn't any different
than what they would experience outdoors, but that's when I was getting
germination of less than 5%!

I will keep track of which crosses were frozen vs the ones already
germinating & report germination success later.

Very discouraging.
