This is the first fall in more than 3? years that we have gone into fall bloom season with 'normal' weather (i.e., at least some rain and cool temperatures). Whatever normal means any more.

So I'm seeing stalks on a few older crosses that haven't experienced 'good' rebloom conditions in their lives, plus several maiden stalks (may or may not be 'real' rebloomers) on seedlings from 2011 seeds. Plus several other older ones that have rebloomed before - not as exciting.

"old" first time rebloomers - dates are year of seeds (year the cross was made):
2005 - pinky purple DOCTOR ALAN X RENOWN (drnownpurp-3)
2008 - 3rd yr germ creamy yellow HoM X RENOWN (drnown-6)
2008 - 1st yr germ not showing color yet, pbf, HoM X ?Renown (stalk fell, pod tag not legible, notebook probable)
2008 - not showing color yet IMM X (IMM x AMITY ESTATE)
2006 - yellow blend HoM X LOVELY SENORITA
2006 - white IMM X TREASURED

Maiden bloom on 2011 seeds:
not showing color IMM X (IMM x Csong) - 4 of 11 surviving seedlings
yellow, not open yet (GOLDEN IMMORTAL x DOCTOR ALAN) X HoM
not showing color yet (IMM x Csong) X OCTOBER SPLENDOR
purple showing OXMOOR HILLS X GATE OF HEAVEN
plus 2 of 2 really horrid looking seedlings from IMM, Csong, Matrix, VM & PAGAN DANCE. really awful!

Plus 7 older ones I already knew could rebloom.

30 yr avg first frost is mid October, but usually not enough to kill unopened blooms. Nice to get a chance to see rebloom potential in these older ones!

RENOWN has even managed to open a nice bloom this year.
