> My first question: Do some irises need a chill temperature in order to bloom?
--
First of all welcome to the iris-l. It is always nice to here a new voice. Next,
although I am the first to admit that I am no expert I will try to answer your question
and then let the real experts fill in/correct as necessary. To my knowledge the only
iris that really needs a chill temperature to bloom is the Miniature Dwarf Bearded
(MDB). There may be a few Standard Dwarf Beardeds (SDB) that fall in to this
category as well. This is due to the species iris in their background. I believe that
most of the rest of the iris world will prosper without a lot of cold weather.
How about it folks?
