I obviously missed the beginning of this thread. Hasten to say I'm NOT a
lily expert. Go ask the lily-l list.
I'm the person who killed all but 14 of her 92 Cooley iris order last
year, and my trumpet lilies rotted away too.
Before I die I WILL BE A LILY EXPERT.

Th beginning was a note from someone about planting iris and lilium in a
raised bed that had a clay underlay -- my concern was that the clay would
provide a bowl to collect the water -- I suggested the writer ask you about
soil and water for lilium.
I guess the problem was resolved, I do not recall a follow up...
