Re: iris declared noxious plant


Regarding pseudacorus, maybe it is winter, as suggested, that keeps 
it in check.  Here in our region most of the irisarians I know grow 
one or more types, and nobody complains of invasiveness, nor have I 
seen it as such in their gardens.  I just planted 3 different 
cultivars in the garden this summer, in fact.  As for loosestrife, or 
Lythrum, I have had a plant in my garden for years, and it has never 
been a problem.  It does shed seeds, but they either don't grow or 
are easily hoed out.
