Thanks Lloyd - interesting. So these iris may have the physiology to 'shut
down' in response to drought stress too, which as I understand it, is part of
what winter does to plants (dries them out).
CHURCHILL DOWNS is another one that dies way back - looks really near death
after transplanting, but is one of my more reliable iris.
