I'm back home from vacation. And much to my delight there is an iris in
bloom! I haven't checked my map yet to figure out which one it is, but
it's definitely something I haven't seen bloom before, so I'm a happy
camper.
Also waiting for me was a big box from Iric City Gardens of Lousianas and
species irises that I ordered...but it's too cold (for my comfort) to go
out and plant them! Brrrr...
My specimen of ELECTRIQUE that had succummed to rot shortly before I left
on vacation has made a beautiful recovery with 3 strong healthy increases
growing and a nice firm rhizome (well, what's left of it) that shows no
sign of rot.
One of my cristatas from Christy Hensler bit the dust while I was gone. :(
But the other one appears quite vigorous.
Also waiting in my mailbox was a pack of seeds from Sterling Okase (thanks
Sterling!) for iris milesii.
I've got quite a lot to do this weekend! (Not to mention catching up on
several days of IRIS-TALK emails.)
