Hey! I'm in SC...Myrtle Beach...sorry to hear about rot problem...would
think I'd have possibility of same misfortune, althoughnone yet. Are yours in
raised beds?
We have had a lot of humidity, and I read somewhere that humid areas may need
to grow them a tad drier. I also tried using something called "smart soil"
combined with native soil here, which is kinda sandy...the smart soil product
supposedly helps retain moisture, so if I water less....hope there's a balance
that works there. Also watch nitrogen level in fertilizer...think I remember
reading that nitrogen promotes rot? Hope this helps!
