Gaura lindheimeri is native to the Texas-Oklahoma area, I believe. The
Thompson & Morgan catalog lists it as suitable for Zones 6 to 9. I know it
is perennial in the Salt Lake City area, which has a Zone 7 microclimate,
but not here. I think it might well be worth a try in your locale.
