I have a couple seedlings with red based fans turning to purple about two

Mike.... this is VERY exciting! I can picture those fans in a clump.... and
I'm excited about the possibility of getting that redness to progress up the
fan.
Flowers aren't everything.... after all, we live with the foliage all year,
but the flowers for only a short while.
I have some variegated canna and I lop the flowers off. Don't like cannas

Keep us informed on your progress..... and, of course, in order to have a
great foliage plant...you need great foliage. Do you notice any leaf spotting
or browning??
