New person - not new irisarian

Well, for that matter, I have been a person for quite a long time, too.
 
Hi, my name is Cheryl Oke.  I live on Pender Island which is in the
Strait of Georgia between the Vancouver area and Victoria, B.C.
I have been collecting iris of various kinds for some years but confess
to having learned not a whole lot - except that I like them!  And, I have
never lost one even in bog, clay, sand, or draught - all of which they
have been planted in here.  Given that we live in a rainforest much of
the year, it's a wonder the little dickens will grow at all, but they do -
like crazy.
 
Just wanted to say hi for now.  Off to one of the dozens of jobs that one
has to do when living on a tiny island in the middle of nowhere to earn a
living.
