Share your feelings about the mice. In addition to the dirt,
destruction and general messing up, you just can't appreciate the little
beasts popping out where you don't expect them. But about the alfalfa
pellets, why can't you just spread them in your iris beds or use them
for tilling directly into beds where you intend to plant? From all I've
been reading, this would be a better thing than putting them into the
compost bed for eventual general garden use. Who knows, maybe you'll
discover that alfalfa laced with mouse pellets is even better than
straight alfalfa!
