Potted Iris

 About 2 1/2 years ago l got started with iris when they were selling off the nursery stock at the old Dominion Seed Company, a woman's group were looking after it to raise funds, and apparently the fields were to do under the bulldozer,  l made the 600 mile round trip  with the intention of only getting some peonies of which l got, nine different ones, l also got 40 or so iris, which were not named, and some day will figure a way to identify them,   
  Prior to planting them l knocked all the dirt off and thew it in some compost, from which has arisen a small iris the rz is about an inch long and half an inch thick, l don't know if this baby is from a seed or a rz piece but  it was not attached anything, l have potted it and will baby it through the winter here in the house. It was through this group l got the potting idea, would have never thought of it otherwise, thanks.
