Re: OT : Re: [iris-talk] wondering

From: "Linda Horth" <lhorth@rconnect.com>

Paul &Yvonne Thought I would give you a little background on my thoughts
about living warm climates;like I had said I have lived in Minn. all my
life [well not all my life yet just turned 70 hope to have a few more years
left] All my working life I worked at the building trade as a carpenter. I
worked in 90 degree weather & I worked in below zero weather in other words
hot cold wet & snow, what really as you say "blew my mind " was when when
the snow was blowing sideways & someone was up on his roof chopping ice off
the eaves of his house with an ice bar & punched a hole in the roof & wants
to know if I can come & patch the roof rite away. Oh you maybe don't know
what an ice bar is, it's an iron rod about 4 feet long flattend at one end
& sharpend , it is used for chopping holes in ice for ice fishing, but some
people have found other uses for it [like puncing holes in their roofs]. I
have been retired for sometime now & people ask me if I miss carpenter work
? , my answer is this "When I see the snow flying past my window I swing my
easychair around grab the remote & see whats good on[ as you might say the
telly] After all this talking/writing do you see why I wonder about living
in a warm climate? oh by the way iWANT YOU TO KNOW , IF I get the urge to
do some work I go over to the davenport & lay down till the urge passes .
Hope to chat with you again Tom Krop.
