Hello again.
We have had our first 3 major frosts. The dahlias are gone and I have to
find time to get the ones planted in the garden out (the pots are dug and
in a box of shavings/straw). Anyone have recipes for 200 pounds of frozen
tomatoes???
Folks here seem to like to cut the folliage back, I had never done so in
TX, but here in zone 3/4/5 I am not too sure what to do. Any northern
gardener input here?
Spiders, oooooohh, bad subject for me. I really LIKE spiders, I allow wolf
spiders in the workshop and house till they head for the bedroom, I just
toss them out then. But... I had a brown recluse bite in summer of 1994,
ankle, healed after about 3 months of torment. Went back to Antarctica
that Nov, rolled ankle, tore ligaments, AND the spider venom kicked back
in, and I was medivacked back to states with serious cellulitis (blood
poisoning) from toes to knee; spent 3.5 months flat on my back with ankle
elevated. I was completely bed ridden, and finally was on crutches till
about May. NOT a nice spring. At least the garden was on autopilot then.
We almost have the big cabin done, we are working daily on that, and the
gardens are being completely ignored. I keep looking at the frozen messes
and saying I need to cut/pull/trim plants, but can not seem to find the time.
Next year things will be garden focused!~!~!
Take care all,
