I think it may also depend on the size of the rhizome and
whether you put the pots in the shade or not.
Assuming you shade the pots and the rhizomes are
'commercial size' like what you get from Superstition and Ghio,
shaved rhizomes get started rooting very quickly. I must admit I
have never timed it, but it is quite soon enough. Mine are going to
stay in the pots at least two months anyway. I just finished
unpotting everything yesteray - the bearded last week and the
beardless this week. I still have a few things to move around on
Saturday, our last day for outdoor activities for awhile according to
the weather man....a big chill down and rain are on the way.
